Stop at Costco and pick up a couple Tommy Bahamma folding beach chairs for less than the cost of renting. If you're not a Costco member, there's always Walmart.

First week of October.. water is cooling off, but still probably 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Can be some beautiful sunny days with air temps in the mid 70s. Obviously not bath water temps, but doable. Shoulder seasons can be beautiful with diminished crowds and most businesses in full operation.

Its like it never happened. Wilmington is the hurricane magnet of the east coast. These people are used to it and make the investments needed to stay in business after a major hurricane. I can't even tell there was a hurricane here just 9 months later. You can't say that about New York or New Jersey after Hurricane Sandy and that was 4 years ago.
